Cybersecurity laws are developed mainly to safeguard infrastructure and digital properties against cyber risks such as hacking, illegal access, and information leaks, whereas data protection laws are developed to protect personal information and grant the right to privacy to individuals. Although they have different areas of focus, both cybersecurity and data protection are meant to ensure the safety of sensitive data and limit the possibility of its misuse, and their successful combination is essential for ensuring the trust of the digital ecosystems. This paper discusses the association between cybersecurity law and data protection regulations, and the similarities and differences that exist between them, as well as the difficulties that organizations experience in the process of compliance with those requirements. The new technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, are important to increase cybersecurity and data protection practices. AI can be employed in threats identification and automated reaction to security breaches, and blockchain guarantees integrity and transparency of data storage and transactions. In addition, the paper discusses the governance frameworks, such as cybersecurity professional and data protection officer (DPO) roles, to achieve compliance to these regulations. The organizations need to focus on both the cybersecurity risk and the data protection obligations by ensuring effective governance and a holistic approach to compliance. The paper also evaluates regional cybersecurity and data protection measures and mentions the regulatory frameworks in EU, US, and Asia and the emergence of international standards like ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST, which assists organizations to comply with global compliance regulations. With the changing nature of cyber threat and the increasing complexity of regulatory frameworks, it is important that organizations take a proactive, integrated approach in managing cybersecurity and data protection. This method makes digital systems safe, personal data confidential, and allows adhering to the growing strictness of laws.

Keywords: Cybersecurity Law, Data Protection Regulations, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, GDPR, CCPA, Compliance, Data Protection Officers, Governance, International Standards, ISO/IEC 27001, NIST
Umar Niaz Khan Copyright (c) 2025 Journal Of Social Science and Knowledge Horizons 2025-03-31 2025-03-31 1 1 1 17 Securing Pakistan’s Digital Future: AI-Enhanced Cyber Threat Detection and Protection https://journalofsocialscienceandknowledgehorizons.com/index.php/jsskh/article/view/2
The high rate of digital revolution in Pakistan has increased exposure to complex cyber-attacks, which requires high-tech cybersecurity systems. This article discusses how the Artificial Intelligence (AI) can transform the cybersecurity system of Pakistan by improving the threat detection, response, and prevention. The vulnerability of the traditional security measures to cyberattacks of the critical infrastructure, financial systems, and government databases demonstrates the necessity of implementing AI-driven measures to combat the threat. Features of AI, including the detection of anomalies in real-time, predictive analytics, and automated response to threats provide a hands-on defence against advancing cyber threats, including zero-day exploits and advanced persistent threats (APTs). AI may dramatically decrease the time of response and can limit the damage caused by breaches because it can analyse enormous amounts of data and detect patterns that are not visible to human operators. This article showcases some of the most prominent AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) and deep learning, and how they can be used to secure the digital eco system in Pakistan. Estonia and U.S. case studies show that it is possible to integrate AI into national cybersecurity plans and offer effective solutions to Pakistan. Nevertheless, issues like lack of skilled workers, expensive implementation procedure and strong infrastructure should be overcome. Government, industry, academia cooperation is essential to developing innovation and developing locally based AI solutions to address Pakistani specific threats. After all, AI-powered cybersecurity is a revolutionary chance to ensure the security of the most important sectors in Pakistan, raise foreign investment, and become a digital defence flagship. Investments in AI technologies and workforce will be strategic towards ensuring the digital future in Pakistan would not be jeopardized by increasing cyber threats.

Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Pakistan, Cyber Threats, Machine Learning, Threat Detection, Critical Infrastructure, Digital Transformation, Predictive Analytics, Cyber Defense
Jafar Nazir Copyright (c) 2025 Journal Of Social Science and Knowledge Horizons 2025-03-31 2025-03-31 1 1 18 28 The Israel-Iran Conflict: Shaping New Regional Dynamics in the Middle East https://journalofsocialscienceandknowledgehorizons.com/index.php/jsskh/article/view/3
Israel-Iran is one of the most important and multi-faceted geopolitical rivalries in the Middle East, that has strong geopolitical, ideological and religious grounds. This is a conflict that has been developing ever since the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, and this conflict is still affecting the relations in the region and is shaping allies, security systems and power relations in the Middle East. Israel and Iran have been arch enemies since the ideological change in Iran by Ayatollah Khomeini to the current nuclear politics and proxy wars. The competition is not only between the bilateral relations of the two countries but also between the influence on the wider regional tensions and affecting the major world powers. The paper investigates how the conflict between Israel and Iran is redefining regional alliances such as the changes in political interests, and promoting proxy wars especially in Syria, Yemen and Lebanon. The paper seeks to evaluate the implications to the future regional stability and security by studying the historical as well as current dynamics. The most important aspects of the research will be devoted to the changing character of alliances, especially to the normalization of Israel and Gulf States relations due to the Abraham Accords, as well as the position of external powers, such as the United States, Russia, and China. The paper also examines the possibilities of escalation in the future especially in relation to the nuclear ambition of Iran and points out diplomatic options to de-escalation. Adopting a qualitative approach, the research relies on historical sources, policy reports, professional views, and case scenarios to explain the reality of the Israel-Iran conflict on the geopolitics of the Middle East. Finally, the paper highlights the necessity of continuing the diplomatic efforts and regional cooperation to solve the roots of the conflict and avert further destabilization of the region.

Keywords: Israel-Iran Conflict, Middle East Geopolitics, Nuclear Disputes, Proxy Wars, Regional Alliances, Abraham Accords, Iran’s Nuclear Program, Geopolitical Rivalries, De-Escalation, Regional Security
Zafar Ali Dr. Farhana Kousar Saleem Ahmed Copyright (c) 2025 Journal Of Social Science and Knowledge Horizons 2025-03-31 2025-03-31 1 1 29 40 Digital Populism in Pakistan: How Social Media is Reshaping Political Mobilization https://journalofsocialscienceandknowledgehorizons.com/index.php/jsskh/article/view/4
Digital populism has become a revolutionizing phenomenon in politics in Pakistan, which has altered mobilization practices in social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok. This paper will review the role of digital populism and how it allows direct contact between leaders and their citizens without using the traditional media to look at the effects of the same on the grassroots mobilization, disinformation, and participation by the youth. The paper will concentrate on case studies like the PTI of Imran Khan and other opposition parties like PML-N and PPP and explain how influencers, bots, and echo chambers can be used to spread polarizing stories. Other issues facing the country and discussed in the article are government censorship, the urban-rural digital divide, and the subversion of democratic discourse by hyper-partisanship. In the future, it evaluates the future consequences of the AI, deepfakes, and emerging platforms towards the political stability of Pakistan. Although digital populism can be used to include people in their participation, its abuse can contribute to further polarization and the institutional mistrust. The study ends by providing policy outputs to strike a balance between the freedoms of the digital world and accountability and recommends the creation of regulatory frameworks, digital literacy, and ethical campaigning to protect the democratic future of Pakistan.

Keywords: Digital Populism, Pakistan, Social Media, Political Mobilization, Disinformation, Imran Khan, PTI, Censorship, AI, Deep-fakes, Democratic Stability
Rizwan Ahmad Copyright (c) 2025 Journal Of Social Science and Knowledge Horizons 2025-03-31 2025-03-31 1 1 41 54 Gender and Politics in Pakistan: Women’s Representation in Legislative Bodies https://journalofsocialscienceandknowledgehorizons.com/index.php/jsskh/article/view/5
This article examines the complex dynamics of women's political participation in Pakistan, highlighting both progress and persistent challenges. Despite constitutional provisions like reserved seats in the National and Provincial Assemblies, women remain underrepresented due to patriarchal norms, institutional barriers, and gendered violence. The study traces the historical context, from early leaders like Fatima Jinnah to milestones such as Benazir Bhutto's premiership and the 2002 Gender Reform Action Plan, while critiquing the tokenism of quota systems. Current data reveals disparities: women hold 26% of National Assembly seats (mostly reserved), yet only 6% win general elections, reflecting systemic inequities. Regional divides persist, with urban areas like Karachi showing higher participation than rural regions, where cultural and logistical obstacles dominate. The article underscores the transformative impact of women legislators, who champion gender-sensitive policies on education and health, yet face backlash from conservative factions. Civil society initiatives and international collaborations, such as UN Women’s leadership programs, have made strides in voter education and candidate training, but sustainability remains a concern. The study concludes with recommendations for legal reforms, party-level accountability, and grassroots mobilization to dismantle structural barriers and achieve substantive gender parity in Pakistani politics.

Keywords: Gender Politics, Women’s Representation, Pakistan, Legislative Bodies, Quota System, Patriarchy, Political Participation, Institutional Barriers, Civil Society, Electoral Reforms
Ikram Ullah Copyright (c) 2025 Journal Of Social Science and Knowledge Horizons 2025-03-31 2025-03-31 1 1 55 72
